Education remains one of the cardinal interest of Ugbajo Itsekiri. Regional associations have intervened at primary and secondary levels providing equipment and even buildings. Recently our member Oma Iwere NY/NJ completed and donated 2 classrooms and facilities at the Inorin Primary school, Inorin that was commissioned by Ogiame Atuwatse III in July 2022. In prior years other member associations have run summer reading programs in communities like Ubeji and Ugbokodo as well as remedial programs for unsuccessful graduates of secondary schools preparing for university entrance exams.
Ugbajo Itsekiri USA however has concentrated its efforts on tertiary support through provision of scholarship. Since 2005 we have supported over 300 students with an annual scholarship of $500.00 per student. Currently we award 14 scholarships annually.
